Ouroboros

Alive generative feedback wall. Digital 8 camcorders, projectors, robotics, arduino, speakers, macbook. Two cameras look at each other’s projections, to create a figure eight, feedback loop. The light cast from the projectors create tiny shadows on the screen surface. The shadows are multiplied by infinity which causes them to grow and mutate. The video signal is split and turned into audio. Black translates to silence and white as full spectrum noise. Robotic arms with steady and precise movement, pan the cameras towards and away from each other producing a breath like accordion effect. Shadows cast into the stream of feedback produce both visual and sonic ripples. There is no recording. All images and sounds are entirely generated by imperfect self reflection which never repeats the same, and morphs over time.
